Manitoba's first and only dedicated outlet shopping centre, The Outlet Collection Winnipeg (OCW), features more than 100 fashion and outlet brands. For out-of-country visitors wanting to take advantage of the exchange rate before heading home, the OCW will prove an ideal shopping destination for FIT and group tours by offering visitors who live over 60 km outside city limits special discounts from participating retailers. Day 3 Winnipeg is home to Western Canada's largest winter festival. Since 1970, Festival du Voyageur has celebrated the fur trade era along with the city's Métis and Francophone history. The event takes place at Fort Gibraltar in Saint-Boniface, the city's charming French District. Within the Fort you'll find activities such as an International Snow Sculpture Symposium, a rich heritage program depicting the fur trade, and concerts in massive tents from over 115 bands, ranging from traditional French-Canadian fiddle to indie-rock. Roll your own maple taffy or sip Caribou from an ice glass, only at Festival du Voyageur! Hého! Celebrated by locals and visitors alike, Thermëa is a Scandinavian spa that brings new meaning to total relaxation. Situated in the snow-capped forests of Fort Garry—just a ten-minute drive from downtown—this open-air spa features thermal pools, Finnish saunas, luxurious steam rooms, and several relaxation chambers, all of which are enhanced by the colder winter. The onsite restaurant—where dining in your robes is mandatory—specializes in holistic (and delicious), locally sourced fare, with an excellent wine, beer and craft cocktail program.
