Christa Bruneau-Guenther Feast Cafe Bistro Christa Bruneau-Guenther—a member of the Peguis First Nation—is a passionate community advocate who brings her extensive knowledge of Indigenous cooking to many Food Network shows and publications. At her West End restaurant, you'll find comforting dishes using traditional bannock with plenty of focus on bison, squash and local berries. Chef Mandel Hitzer deer + almond Mandel Hitzer is known for his eclectic and whimsical dishes in the Exchange District. Deer + almond's former chef de cuisine Emily Butcher too has impressive culinary chops, having recently finished third at the Canadian Culinary Championships and sixth on Top Chef Canada. Food halls Our two vibrant food halls, Hargrave Street Market and The Forks, have an exceptional array of kiosks run by some of the city's best chefs. Full-service bars and gorgeous patios make al fresco group meetings a must while you look out on the Red and Assiniboine rivers or downtown's skyline. Hargrave features everything from upscale Italian to smash burgers, tacos, sushi and ramen, gourmet sandwiches, a central cocktail bar, and Lake of the Woods Brewing Company— which has a tap room and patio. Food trucks & patios Spring through fall, Winnipeg's fleet of more than 40 food trucks are always ready to serve (often coming right to the Convention Centre), while throughout the city you'll find an incredible array of patios— particularly in the Exchange District, Downtown, Corydon Avenue and at any number of our more than 18 breweries and distilleries. Our culinary stars Foodie fun Thermal cycle relaxation If total relaxation is your thing, make Thermëa by Nordik Spa Nature part of your itinerary. You can literally spend all day at this outdoor oasis (we have many times), doing the rejuvenating thermal cycle between its hot and cold pools and icy waterfall. Plus, its Finnish saunas, steam rooms, heated hammocks and relaxation chambers are guaranteed to make you feel more tranquil than blue skies on a summer's day–no matter what time of year you visit. The food here is also outstanding, with a menu that focuses on holistic whole foods and seasonality (with a great wine, beer and cocktail list to boot).
