Property insights attract new business growth Leger When companies consider Winnipeg as a place to invest and build, they contact Leger, a leader in market research and strategy services. Winnipeg's downtown area has seen significant growth thanks to major investments in housing, entertainment and retail opportunities. Leger's research has played a role in revitalizing the city's centre. "A developer was interested in a significant investment and wanted to understand how Winnipeggers felt about the property," said Andrew Enns, Leger's Executive Vice President, noting the company's leading-edge technologies used to conduct research about Winnipeg's downtown. "We did a statistically sound survey that showed the developers that Winnipeggers viewed the property as a worthwhile project. They used our research to frame the project." Over the years, Leger's research has determined what residents appreciate about their city. "Winnipeggers enjoy the stability of the lifestyle," said Enns. "They like that Winnipeg is a place you can purchase a home, raise a family, and you don't feel that you're completely at the mercy of mortgage payments. They enjoy the pastimes. We've got fantastic accessibility to parks, lakes and camping. They like that you can make a decent living and enjoy those amenities while still having a comfortable life." Leger's research has also revealed Winnipeggers appreciate the work-life balance possible in the city. "We've heard in our research that people appreciate that no matter where you live in Winnipeg, you're not commuting for hours," said Enns. "You're not putting up with gridlock. People say, 'I'd rather be in Winnipeg than Toronto dealing with their traffic headaches,' and that's appealing." Under Enns's leadership, Leger, which has seven offices in Canada and one in the U.S., is committed to serving the Winnipeg community. "Research is changing and I want our clients in Winnipeg to have the benefit of those changes and innovations locally," said Enns. "I've made a point of saying I want to maintain a strong, professional presence in Winnipeg so that we can provide our clients what we've been offering for all these years. It's critical to the country that you hear that prairie voice, and for us, that comes out of Winnipeg." Courtesy of Leger Courtesy of Leger Y E S !
