Canada's Diversity Gardens
New home for the Royal
Aviation Museum of
Western Canada
The Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada is
home to one of the largest and most historically
significant aviation collections in Canada.
Founded in 1974, the museum is dedicated to
showcasing Canada's remarkable aviation history,
the wonder behind the science of flight, as well
as inspiring future aviators and explorers of the
sky. In 2022, the museum re-opened its doors
in a new purpose-built, state-of-the-art building
prominently located on the main terminal loop at
the Winnipeg James A. Richardson International
Airport. In its new 86,000 sq. ft. majestic home,
the museum will showcase the past, present and
future of flight in distinct thematic spaces in ways
that engage, educate and inspire.
Opened in December 2022, The Leaf is a
$130-million world-class attraction that is
uniquely Canadian and of national significance.
It is the first and only garden in North America
to tell Canadians' cultural stories through the
world of plants. It features Canada's largest
indoor waterfall. The Leaf houses four unique
indoor plant biomes, including a tropical biome,
Mediterranean biome, seasonal display house
and butterfly garden. It also houses coffee bar,
gift shop, event hall and destination restaurant
Gather Craft Kitchen & Bar, which features
globally inspired modern Prairie cuisine. It is
complemented by Outdoor Gardens offering
distinct landscapes and experiences for visitors.
