Governed by a private-sector board and driven by the needs of the business community, EDW grows the local economy by attracting business, investment, events and people to our city. » Our YES! Economic Development Winnipeg acknowledges we are located on Treaty 1 territory, the original lands of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dene peoples and on the homeland of the Red River Métis. In recognition of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Call to Action 92 and as a signatory to the City of Winnipeg's Indigenous Accord, EDW pledges to support Indigenous economic development, and to collaborate with Indigenous businesses and organizations in project and talent development. Both here at home and in identified target markets, EDW's qualified professionals connect meaningfully with industry stakeholders, business community leaders and government partners, leveraging data and insightful market research to identify opportunities for business development, foreign direct investment, talent attraction and tourism. 2022 was a meaningful year for economic growth in our city and, in many cases, EDW was the catalyst of that growth. The following pages highlight special initiatives and projects and summarize EDW's 2022 results.
