Manitoba Theatre for Young People
(MTYP)

MTYP's season features theatre for young audiences
from around the world, including the visually inventive
Poli POP, from South Korea's Brush Theatre (Jan. 26–Feb.
4). Next is Quebec's Le Petit Theatre de Sherbooke's The
Problem with Pink (Feb. 16–24), then Tetris, that evokes
the eponymous computer game, from the Netherlands
(March 15–24) and finally from Hawaii, The Pa'akai We
Bring (April 26–May 5), about the Native Hawaiian
relationship to salt. MTYP also offers an active theatre
school and classes for Indigenous youth at the Native
Youth Theatre.

Nature Playground

Run, jump, climb and play! Explore the sand and water
play area, slithering slide, sky-high crow's nest, basket
swings, willow tree tunnels, net bridges and the Streuber
Family Children's Garden—all of which blend into the
park's natural surroundings.
Did you know Winnie the Pooh was named after
Winnipeg? The Winnie the Bear statue and plaque,
originally unveiled on August 6, 1992, is located here
commemorating the story of Lt. Colebourn and Winnie
the Bear, the inspiration for the children's storybook
character.

Tinkertown Family Fun Park

Tinkertown is an outdoor family amusement park with
more than 20 rides and attractions, including a half-mile
train ride, carousel, ferris wheel, bumper cars, tilt-a-whirl,
roller coaster and various kiddie rides. It also has an 18-
hole mini-golf course, concession stand and gift shop.
