Winnipeg-born skaters Cindy Klassen and Clara Hughes
share the distinction of being two of Canada's all-time most
decorated Olympians. Klassen is the first Canadian to win
five medals at a single Olympics, while Hughes, also a cyclist,
made history by becoming the fourth athlete in history to earn
multiple medals in both the summer and winter Olympics.

More than 100 languages are spoken in Winnipeg.
Folklorama is the largest and longest-running multicultural
festival of its kind in the world. Run by volunteers, over 40
pavilions participate each year, showcasing culture through
lively entertainment, cultural displays, warm hospitality and
authentic ethnic cuisine.
Winnipeg has the highest per capita population of Filipinos
in Canada, with more than 83,300 calling the city home.
