WINNIPEG'S ACCLAIMED CULINARY SCENE This city's culinary scene has always provided an embarrassment of riches, with enough quality restaurants to fill a city five times its size. At a glance, if you're looking to discover a world of flavours within a few blocks, the West End always beckons. Stroll its streets and you'll find authentic tacos from a family from Mexico City, excellent Korean, Ethiopian, Indian and Latin American cuisine and above all, Vietnamese delicacies around every corner. On Corydon, you can go patio hopping throughout summer, while outdoor pop-up bars like the much-loved Beer Can and The Forks' massive outdoor patio are the spots to meet locals while you sip on local beer. South Pembina and Chinatown are all about Cantonese and Sichuan cuisine, St. Vital will surprise with super popular spots like Harth Mozza and Wine Bar for divine pastas and Tito Boy for exceptional Filipino cuisine. West Broadway provides superior sips and small plates at spots like Langside Grocery and Good Neighbour Brewing Company. For food trucks, the city has a fleet of more than 50, and our breweries, distilleries and wineries (yes, wine! Cheers to you, Low Life Barrel House!) number over 20. You must also get yourself a legendary Fat Boy, a Winnipeg burger that features chili, shredduce and a big fat pickle and plenty of mayo at one of our many burger shacks. Given the city is surrounded by wheat fields, you best believe that our bakeries are second to none and it's always worth the wait to lineup for a flaky pastry from the likes of Le Croissant, Tall Grass Prairie, Gâto, Cake-ology and Crumb Queen. And that's just a start! Winnipeg's most acclaimed restaurants In 2024, three Winnipeg restaurants made the prestigious Canada's 100 Best Restaurants list. Tasting menu spot deer + almond (#39), brunch sensation Clementine (#74) and Japanese restaurant Yujiro (#92) can all be found on this year's list, while the publication's Canada's 50 Best Bars also had The Roost perched at #39. The Roost has made the best bars list several times and is known for its whimsical hand-drawn small plates menu and abundance of craft cocktails from co-owner Elsa Taylor. The same restaurant group also owns Parcel Pizza, Want to dig into even more of Winnipeg's culinary scene? This QR code will take you to a list of our "best eats" all laid out by category.
