businesses is reconciliation in action (which
is most fitting, as the city is also home to the
National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation).
The following experiences, attractions, hotels
and eateries are owned and run by Indigenous
Peoples or created in close consultation.

Chef/owner Christa Bruneau-Guenther's Feast has
been operating since 2016, turning the born-and-raised
Winnipegger and member of the Peguis First Nation into
a national star for her approach to First Nations cuisine.

Opaskwayak Cree Nation, and on her Manoomin menu

Specializes in pizza and fried chicken with an Indigenous
twist, including huge bannock pizzas designed by
Ojibway owner Vince Bignell, a member of Mathias
Colomb Cree Nation (Pukatawagan).
La Brasserie Nonsuch Brewing Co.

Co-owner and CEO Matthew Sabourin is a Manitoba Métis
Federation member. The brewery won the Indigenous
Culinary Tourism award at ITAC's 2024 Indigenous
Tourism Awards for its outstanding culinary offerings,
which includes national award-winning beers, Canada's
best burger, and the Beer Bannock Hands-On Experience,
which explains the company's Métis history while you
make beer-infused Bannock.
Attractions and festivals
Agowiidiwinan Centre • trcm.ca
Agowiidiwinan, meaning "bringing things together," is a
new facility at The Forks created by the Treaty Relations
Commission of Manitoba. The Centre uses oral histories,
archival documents and displays to foster contemporary
understanding of treaties.
