THE GREAT OUTDOORS For interactive learning in science and biology, Winnipeg offers exceptional wildlife viewing and nature excursions. › At Journey to Churchill – the world's most comprehensive Arctic exhibit – mock field research will show students how polar bears, seals, arctic fox, musk ox, snowy owls and other northern animals have adapted in their habitats. This stunning exhibit, located within Assiniboine Park and Zoo, also promotes conservation throughout its 10 acres, demonstrating how climate change has affected the Arctic region. EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES Take a break from the classroom and give students a chance to unwind at Winnipeg's fun-filled attractions. › Outdoor adventure park Adrenaline Adventures features Canada's only cable snowboarding and snow tubing, along with zip lining and a high-ropes course. › See how coins from around the world are made on a guided tour worth every penny at the Royal Canadian Mint. › Celebrations Dinner Theatre serves a four-course meal between acts in a musical theatre show. › Located in the city, FortWhyte Alive is a 640-acre nature oasis offering guided programs tailored to students. Explore this unique geographic area on a GPS tour, perform scientific experiments within its marshlands, and learn about environmental stewardship through hands-on activities.
