Page 35 It's our Time It's our Time BuSiNESS plaN kevin Donnelly As Senior vice president, venues & Entertainment for True North Sports & Entertainment limited, Kevin Donnelly is responsible for managing the MTS Centre as a facility and its event calendar. He transitioned to building and event management in 2001 after years of being a successful promoter, both independently and with House of Blues Concerts Canada. He has become an experienced resource in the entertainment industry, both in Winnipeg and across Canada. In April 2014, True North assumed operation of the 1,600 seat historic Burton Cummings Theatre. Donnelly is a board member of the Winnipeg Art Gallery and Economic Development Winnipeg. He also participates on the Advisory Board of the venue Coalition, representing over 50 arenas across North America. JaSon Smith Jason Smith, Of Winnipeg, is the Director of the 2016 Heritage Classic for the Winnipeg Jets and oversees upcoming events at Investors Group Field as well as all aspects of the Heritage Classic Festival in Winnipeg. prior to this, Jason held the position of vp, Entertainment & Events for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and was president of the 103 Grey Cup Festival. Jason has previously worked in several positions within the local, national and international music and event industries, including Manager, Music programs at Manitoba Film & Music, where he managed the recording, marketing, touring, and out-of-province funding programs and acted as Managing Director of The 2014 JuNO Awards in Winnipeg. He has 15 years' experience as co-owner and operator of Smallman Records & Artist Management and over 25 years' experience as a production manager with paquin Entertainment, an event manager of Edgefest, a local promoter rep for The union, live Nation concerts, Much Music, and the Music West Festival; and as a musician for five years as lead guitar, vocals, and manager with the band Twelve Eyes. passionate about growing Manitoba's arts and event industries, Jason currently sits on the executive board of Manitoba Music and the boards of the Western Canadian Music Awards and the Manitoba Arts Council. In the past he has held board positions with The West End Cultural Centre, Winnipeg's Contemporary Dancers and the FACTOR National Advisory Council. peter WooDS peter has held the position of Executive Director for Hockey Manitoba for the past 15 years serving a membership of over 35,000. peter has a long history of involvement with the game of hockey as a player, coach and administrator that stretches from minor hockey up to the professional level. A graduate of the university of Manitoba peter worked as an Instructor and lecturer in the Faculty of physical Education for 8 years before moving to Europe where he held several senior management positions at the club level as a coach and manager in Norway, Sweden and the uK. In addition to his responsibilities with Hockey Manitoba peter has served as the president for his local Community Centre, a regular charity fundraiser and is respected community leader. peter was recently elected as a Winnipeg School Trustee for the St. James School Division. rick Dillabough A virden, Manitoba native, Rick has been with the Western Hockey league's Brandon Wheat Kings for the past 25 years, serving as the hockey club's Director of Business Operations and Sponsorship. A graduate of Mount Royal university in Calgary, he was Sports Director with Western Manitoba's Riding Mountain Broadcasting before joining the WHl club. In addition to his role with the Wheat Kings, Rick was the Director of Marketing and Communication for the 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup in Brandon, which marked the first time in history that the prestigious 4-team Tournament had been held in Manitoba. Dillabough is past president of the Brandon Humane Society, Baseball Co-Chair of the Canada Summer Games in Brandon and is currently a Board Member with the Brandon Area Community Foundation.
