2019 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship
To Whom it May Concern,
I am pleased to be able to offer the support of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League in
your bid to host the 2019 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship.
The SJHL was a witness to the hugely successful 2010 World Junior tournament in
Saskatoon and Regina. SJHL centers of Humboldt and Weyburn hosted pre-tournament
games for the 2010 tournament. That speaks to the breadth and depth of the game in this
province. The people in Saskatchewan love their hockey and I know there are similar
feelings in the province of Manitoba.
The talent of the people who helped to stage the event six years ago in Saskatoon and
Regina combined with the fresh insights of the team in Winnipeg will make for a great
partnership that will take the tournament to new heights in 2019.
The SJHL has a wonderful hockey history in this province and I know the same can be said
for our counterparts in Manitoba.
The love of the game in the Province of Saskatchewan and the SJHL will go a long way to
ensuring the 2019 world juniors in Winnipeg and Saskatoon will be a massive success. It's
exciting just to think about the possibilities for all partners involved.
