To Winnipeg-Saskatoon Bid Committee:
It is my pleasure to write a letter of support for your bid to host the 2019 IIHF World Junior Hockey
Championship. Many of us with the Regina Pats have enjoyed the world juniors over the years -
especially the one staged by Regina and Saskatoon in 2010! It's great to see some of the same people
who helped to stage that outstanding event now teaming up with like minded people in Winnipeg. It will
be a great tag-team of inter-provincial cooperation that I have no doubt will lead to outstanding results.
The Regina Pats have a storied history as Canada's oldest junior hockey team. We are grateful to play
out of the capital city, in a province that can only be described as a hockey hotbed. Our sport has an
incredible history in Saskatchewan of producing Hall of Fame players but as important, producing this
provinces future leaders. Passion for hockey can be felt at all levels and in every corner of the province.
That passion for the game which is shared with our Manitoba neighbours, would help to make for a
memorable World Junior Hockey Championship in 2019.
