Re: 2019 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships
To the Winnipeg-Saskatoon Bid Committee,
It's my pleasure to support your bid to host the 2019 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship.
The Moose Jaw Warriors have seen the World Juniors come to our province before and we're
delighted the event could be coming back here as well as in Manitoba.
The tournament in 2010 demonstrated the ability of the organizing committee in Saskatoon and
Regina. It was an unbelievable event full of great hockey, full houses, and memories which will
last a lifetime. I'm thrilled to hear some of the people who were behind that event are now
teaming with folks in Winnipeg to plan another wonderful tournament.
The Moose Jaw Warriors have a great history in the province and we enjoy great rivalries with
the four other Western Hockey League teams in Saskatchewan as well as the one in Brandon.
The sport of hockey draws out the passion in the people of the prairies and I have no doubt fans
would come out in droves for the World Juniors in 2019.
I wish you the best of luck as you move forward with the plans to stage the best IIHF World Junior
Hockey Championship ever!
