Top bands and entertainers will perform prior to and after every game at nearby venues. The place will packed with hockey fans from all over the world enjoying food, refreshments, and great Manitoba and Saskatchewan hospitality. Merchandise vendors will sell record numbers of souvenirs while fans will take their pictures in front of unique photo stations. Special Guests including participating teams and hockey legends will be introduced on stage throughout the event. The atmosphere will be electric and fans will never know what hockey celebrity they might meet next. World Fest Cabarets will be the place to be to enjoy the complete IIHF World Junior Championship experience. Family hockey Fair In an effort to make the IIHF World Junior celebration of hockey as inclusive as possible, Winnipeg and Saskatoon will stage special family events entitled Family Hockey Fair. Thanks to sponsors, the Family Hockey Fair will be presented free of charge to families wanting to experience the excitement of the event. Interactive hockey displays, autograph signings, and opportunities to win tournament game tickets will attract thousands of hockey fans of all ages to central downtown venues. The Hockey Hall of Fame will be approached to bring displays including trophies including the Stanley Cup. A special section will feature Manitoba and Saskatchewan Hockey Heroes. Special tours will also be conducted for inner-city schools and minor hockey teams. World merchant program Saskatoon established this popular promotional program during the 2010 tournament and it will return in both Winnipeg and Saskatoon in 2019. Retail merchants and the hospitality sector will purchase tournament promotional packages including game tickets, souvenir wearables, and in-store decorating kit of banners and window signage. Each participating merchant will offer "World passports" encouraging fans to visit bars, restaurants, and retailers to win prizes and tickets. This program is of particular interest to Chambers of Commerce and Tourism Bureaus. The net result is a higher economic impact and greater appreciation of local hospitality. outdoor Shinny Outdoor shinny tournaments played in highly visible downtown locations and inner-city schoolyards will draw hundreds of local youth to the rinks to play for adopted teams from around the world. Again, thanks to sponsors, young players will win medals and game tickets for participating. This is an excellent opportunity to involve less-fortunate kids in the event including First Nations and recent Canadian immigrants.
