As recently noted by the Winnipeg Airports Authority September 2016 saw a record month as passenger volume
increased 15.5% compared to September 2015. October 2016 also saw double-digit growth compared to 2015 with an
increase in passenger traffic of 13%.
Winnipeg has seen an increase in air capacity and new pricing that has assisted in visitors and travellers taking advantage
of these opportunities. Some new developments to Winnipeg's air capacity in 2016 include NewLeaf Travel, Canada's
new low-cost travel company, adding direct flight capacity; along with WestJet, which added direct flight capacity to
London and direct service to Halifax.

From January to October 2016, overall airport passenger volumes increased 6.5 % over the same period in 2015 as a
result of strong domestic and other international travel to Winnipeg. Transborder travel to and from the United States
showed a decrease in volume over the same period in 2015.
