WINNIPEG IDEAS
Canadian Signature Experiences (CSE)
A Prairie Legacy: The Bison and its People at FortWhyte Alive offers an experience full of
wildlife, cultural history and environmental education. It begins with a close-up encounter of 30
grunting, munching bison and visits to a Plains Cree tipi and Pioneer Sod House. Snowshoe
in winter or paddle a voyageur canoe in the spring and summer, and savour bush
tea and bannock cooked over a campfire.

Experience Winnipeg's own "Da Vinci Code" on a Hermetic Code
Tour at the Manitoba Legislative Building. This provincial icon is
full of occult clues concealed in its architecture including hidden
hieroglyphic inscriptions, numerological codes and Freemasonic
symbols so intelligently masked they have escaped historians and
visitors for nearly 100 years.

Be part of important research by banding a real, live bird as
part of Oak Hammock Marsh's Bird in the Hand experience.
Learn why Oak Hammock Marsh is such an important stop during
migrations – there can be up to 400,000 avian visitors daily during fall
migration. Paddle a long Voyageur canoe in these wetlands that over 300
bird species call home.

Head to the Arctic without ever leaving the city at Journey to Churchill: Discover the Magic of the
North in the Heart of the Continent. Witness majestic polar bears swim and play from underwater
viewing tunnels, and wander across authentic landscapes that showcase other northern species
like caribou, wolves, and Arctic fox. Go behind the scenes at the laboratories of the Leatherdale
International Polar Bear Conservation Centre to see the progress being made in environmental
protection and wildlife conservation, as bears are rescued and transitioned to safety.
