35 2017 Annual Report Spring Break and Summer Leisure Campaigns Tourism Winnipeg ran two leisure campaigns targeting vehicle traffic in the 800 kilometre market for spring break/ spring and summer seasons. Both campaigns drew significant results with over 1.5 million impressions across all platforms, 33,812 website visits, 730,369 video views and 5,554 travel packages selected. Holiday Shop and Stay Leisure Campaign Tourism Winnipeg's annual holiday shop and stay leisure advertising campaign, ran from October to December and offered a stay two nights get the third free promotion to visitors. The campaign drew in 651,195 impressions, 17,113 visits to the website and over 2,000 travel packages selected. "We Bring it, So You Bring Them" Commercials In partnership with the City of Winnipeg, two English and French 30-second spots were created to run during the Canada Summer Games on network TV and social media. The spots featured iconic Winnipeg locations and asked visitors and locals to "bring" their aunt/friend/mom to experience the city. Spots received a lot of engagement digitally, being viewed over 620,000 times. Amazon HQ2 Bid and Video Campaign To supplement its bid to host Amazon's HQ2, Marketing and Branding developed multichannel social media content including a video with Obby Khan touring an Amazon Alexa device around Winnipeg. Views on this video were over 69,000 tracked on our own accounts across all platforms, with an estimated larger reach thanks to it being featured on external websites. Google Treks As part of a unique partnership with Google for their Google Treks platform, Tourism Winnipeg captured 360-degree footage to power their streetview maps. Locations included Assiniboine Park and Zoo, Fort Gibraltar, FortWhyte Alive, The Forks and Upper Fort Garry. All photography will be hosted on Google's sites with credit given to Tourism Winnipeg. EDW was featured in several major news outlets including from CBC, CityTV and the Winnipeg Free Press. LGBTQ* Advertising Campaign Tourism Winnipeg launched their first LGBTQ* advertising campaign in partnership with Travel Manitoba. Both organizations invited select partners to offer packages and deals which were supported by new creative content and pushed out in print, digital and social formats. All ads were directed to Tourism Winnipeg's LGBTQ* microsite. Overall the campaign yielded positive results, with participating packages being selected 2,879 times and over 4,500 visits to the microsite. New Economic Development Winnipeg Website EDW created and released a brand new website featuring enhanced functionality, updated statistics and analytics, elevated stature of the YES! Winnipeg program and integrated content marketing with the EDW newsroom blog.
