Sports and special events pacing
As of May 2019, sports and special events booked business for 2019 is
pacing just under 2018 with 23 confirmed events. Total participants and
estimated room nights for 2019 are also pacing below last year; down -8.4
and -56.8 per cent respectively. Looking to next year, booked business in
2019 is pacing ahead of the same time last year. Winnipeg will host the
2020 Golden Boy Indoor Soccer Tournament with 500 participants and an
expected 2000 spectators. In 2020, Winnipeg will also host an event by
the Filipino Basketball Association of North America, which will include 600
participants and draw an estimated 700 spectators to the city.
