Real Y E S ! W I N N I P E G C A M P A I G N 2 0 2 5 IMPACT Investor Insider YES! Winnipeg's (YW) Talent team focuses on workforce development, talent attraction and retention. We leverage our strong partnerships to ensure local companies can access deep talent pools and reach and retain the right people at the right time. Our goal is to save our investors and clients time and money while ensuring Winnipeg has a thriving talent ecosystem. We recently partnered with Magnet, a sophisticated job matching system, to create the YES! Winnipeg Job Connections Portal. It's an interactive platform where Winnipeg companies can connect with more than one million students and more than 150,000 skilled jobseekers. We encourage investors to connect with our Talent team to join the platform. In addition, YW is leading discussions with the nine Manitoba Post- Secondary Institutions (PSIs) and government to improve employer access to talent with the needed job competencies. Strong and effective work-integrated learning (WIL) programs are increasingly seen as a competitive advantage for jurisdictions, connecting youth with employers to gain skills needed for jobs in their chosen field of study. Employers that hire students for co-ops, internships, projects and apprenticeships benefit by building a relationship with future Spring 2021 | Issue no. 1 Magnet: A better way to attract talent graduates. YW will lead the coordination of industry and PSIs in order to streamline the WIL process for employers. The proposed approach includes PSI-industry engagement and coordination to improve employer satisfaction; a single WIL platform for employers to find talent easily and quickly and labour market data to inform decision-making. In partnership with education & training institutions, government and the Manitoba Chamber of Commerce, YW will provide neutral and centralized coordination to support industry to develop its workforce and create jobs. To help restart our economy, the focus will be on upskilling/reskilling the workforce through micro-credentialing—to help our workforce that was impacted by the pandemic qualify for jobs with in-demand skills.
