» For the ninth time in the past 11 years, Winnipeg is on the Intelligent
Community Forum's (ICF) Smart21 list. The ICF is a global think tank that
helps communities find a new path to economic development and community
growth. Our team is actively working with the City of Winnipeg and other
partners to create Winnipeg's submission for the Top7 Intelligent Communities
for 2021. Here are 21 reasons why Winnipeg made the list.
» YW is working with a fast-growing Canadian software company to bring a
new office to Winnipeg. The company will have 100 new staff and will double
its workforce over the next 18 months.
» Manitoba has the lowest cost of electric power in North America and YW is
working with Manitoba Hydro to develop a process to target industries and
companies that would be specifically looking for renewable and/or cost-
effective power.
» YW supported Winnipeg's GoodLocal in its launch of a single window, online
order and delivery platform designed to support local small businesses. This
came at the height of the pandemic, when support for SMEs was greatly
needed. The company has already realized great success and plans to
extend their product and service offering and grow into new markets.
